- Wikisym 2008 in Porto, Portugal september 8-10. WikiSym is the premier conference devoted to research and practice on wikis -- lightweight, open, collaborative systems for recording and refining ideas and information.
- Wikimania 2008 in Alexandria, Egypt July 17-19. Wikimania is a conference held yearly for users of the Wikimedia Foundation projects, including Wikipedia, Wikinews, etc. It is a community event as well as scientific meeting.
