SRA risk education questionnaire

Dear Colleague,

The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) has highlighted the lack of information regarding the number and themes of Risk-Related Programmes and Curriculum materials available and whether the current educational offerings are appropriate to accommodate any future trends.

You are being invited to take part in a research study which aims to identify current practice and future opportunities for risk related education and allow for a better fit between what risk professionals need and what educational offerings are available.

Below (please scroll down if needed) is a questionnaire, the results of which will support this research being undertaken by the SRA and in addition will form part of a Masters Degree research project supervised by Middlesex University’s Centre for Decision Analysis and Risk Management.

For the purposes of this questionnaire the term ‘risk governance’ has been used to encompass all areas of risk analysis, risk management and wider risk-related processes.

The questionnaire has 2 parts:

Part 1: Contains a number of key words that we have picked out from a sample of risk management programmes, which we ask you to rate in terms of importance on a scale of 1 – 10.

Part 2: This section asks you to record and rate any theme, topic or activity you feel should be included in the list and has been missed or which you feel is likely to become more important in the next few years. Your views provided in this section are key to helping us determine how risk education should be developing.

All information that is collected about you during the course of the research will be kept strictly confidential. Any information used will have personal details removed so that confidentiality is maintained.

Please respond at the latest by May 5th, 2008. As an added incentive, timely completion of the survey by May 5th, 2008, will enter you in a prize draw to win $100.

If you have any questions regarding this questionnaire, the SRA research study or Masters Degree research project, please contact:
