Dioxin responsive element

DRE (dioxin responsive element): XRE, xenobiotic responsive element), a short sequence of DNA which binds the dimer of AHR+ARNT and initiates the transcription of a gene. The structure of DRE in the case of CYP1A1 gene is 5'-TNGCGTG-3'. [1]
