Scope
Climatic effects of Hämeenkyrö MSWI describe the impacts on greenhouse gas emissions.
Definition
Greenhouse gas emissions are affecting climate irrespective of the site of release. It makes therefore no difference whether an CO2 emission occurs in Hämeenkyrö or in, for example Botswana or Nepal.
It is nowadays widely accepted that greenhouse gas emissions are a key player in the current global climate change. The emissions change the content of the atmosphere and affect the radiation balance to the Earth and back to the space. This will lead to an increase in the average global temperature, and consequently other changes in climate.
The health effects caused by climate change are currently very difficult to assess, as the related uncertainties are so large. However, there is a general agreement that the climate change must be taken seriously, and its causes and impacts must be dealth with whenever it is possible.
