Majority of the data is obtained from the ExpoFacts database http://expofacts.jrc.ec.europa.eu and the original references are listed there. The information is provided for the following age categories: 0-1 years, 1-2 years, 3-8 years, 9-14 years and 15-64 years. Some exceptions for this categorization are listed below. Data is provided for both genders and with information on distributions (mean and SD).

In addition the original data is used to provide the weight distributions (mean and SD) for three age categories (children, teens and adults) and for both sexes in the following European countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and UK. The data is produced based on the original ExpoFacts data by using the mean and SD for creating normal distributions, which were then combined within the corresponding age group to form a single sample describing the distributions.
